The district called Hampstead

Towards the north of central London lies a district known as Hampstead which contains numerous open spaces belonging to the Hampstead Heath and unassuming historical places of interest. The famous attraction amongst the Regency homes in London, Kenwood House comprises of a museum about John Keats' life and work since the place was his former house. One will also be able to spot landscapes by John Constable all over Hampstead Heath. One would also find a number of cafes, restaurants and historical pubs in this city.

The famous yet humble Hampstead Village

One can spend a couple of days in Hampstead Village because it has a lot to offer: cafes, historical pubs and lively restaurants. However, despite of all this, the original village character is still intact. There are at least eighteen grade II listed buildings in Hampstead High St of this village. Few places in Hampstead's inner boroughs are as wealthy as this section which has majestic historic houses and grand neighborhoods.

The place also has an excellent arthouse cinema, repertory theatres and places offering shopping that isn't mainstream in nature.

The Heath - a major attraction site

Legends like Alfred Tennyson, Kingsley Amis, John Constable, William Blake, William Hogarth, Ian Fleming, Anna Pavlova and John Keats have lived in this district therefore it is bound to have influential thespian, literary and artistic traditions even today.

The traditions are very much alive and so various people associated with the media, musicians, writers and actors love to reside here. The people living here often carry out protest or strong discussions for opposing any new changes to be introduced to the area they have been living in for so long.

If you want to visit Hampstead Heath then you could get down at any one of the two stations on the London Overground line: Gospel Oak Station or Hampstead Heath Station. The line also extends further west to areas like West Hampstead and Finchley Road. In case of Northern Line one can reach the area via tube stations such as Hampstead and Belsize Park. For people from South London, particularly Brighton and the English Midlands, it is easier to access Hampstead through the main Thameslink Line. For people who find Euston to Watford main line convenient, one can get trains to South Hampstead easily every 20 minutes.

Renting Hampstead's Properties

If you want to rent properties like houses and flats in Hampstead then you should go towards the southern side of the district. This section is a huge residential area where you will easily be able to rent a property instead of being obligated to purchase one to experience the beauty of the district. The leafy streets is a short commute away from the district's city centre by bicycle, bus or train. This place is best for those who want rental properties in quieter areas or neighborhoods of South Hampstead.
