Would a Collection Agency Help WWE Money in the Bank?

By Rob Sutter

It's the goal of just about any wrestler to go after a championship and doing so can prove to be a challenge, to say the least. With many people wanting to prove that they are amongst the best in the business, there's a level of competition that comes in the job description. However, it's the one reason why people seem to tune in to World Wrestling Entertainment time and time again. There is one accolade where I think that a collection agency can play a part.

"Money in the Bank" is a yearly showcase that WWE has pitted in order to give someone an opportunity at greatness. Basically, usually six opponents face off in a ladder match and the prize above is a briefcase containing a contract for a world title. This is beneficial for the briefcase holder because it allows them the chance to wrestle for the belt in any instance. This can be done even if the champion competed and is too exhausted to defend his title to the utmost degree.

Not only have competitors recognized this rule but they also went on to take advantage of it. For instance, you have such men as Edge and CM Punk, who were perhaps the two most successful people to ever compete in these bouts. They, along with a few others, did not announce when they were going to cash in and actually doing so is rare. You never knew when the winner was going to come in to steal the prize, either, which I believe only added to the spectacle.

I don't think anyone can deny that it's hard to predict the results of these cash-ins, but what part would firms the likes of Rapid Recovery take on? Edge actually didn't win his second Money in the Bank briefcase until he beat the actual winner of the match for his contract. This allowed Edge to showcase his tactics, which were unhanded yet allowed him to secure another world title to add to his growing list of accomplishments. It's apparent that a collection agency, in theory, would be needed to attain what was lost.

Risks and rewards go hand in hand in life and that speaks true about the Money in the Bank match. This has allowed people to go on to achieve great things, in many cases, but do not think that it's for certain. You may have the contract if you manage to win the Money in the Bank match but you do not have a title reign secured. You have to take the gamble and if it pays off, you will soon be able to call yourself a champion of the company.
